Qualified Crews

Station 59 volunteers study and train extensively to be ready to respond on moment’s notice to help people in trouble on the water.

In addition to meeting stringent sea time qualifications annually, the minimum Transport Canada certifications required to qualify as a crew member include the Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate (PCOC), Restricted Operator’s Certificate – Maritime (ROC-M) certification, and Marine Basic First Aid + CPR/AED Level C. In addition, Advanced Crew and Coxswains acquire and maintain higher-level qualifications as required.
